How to Send Flowers to a Cruise Ship at Charleston

Charleston cruise embarkation is at Union Pier, not at a King Street hotel and not at the City Market. A florist who lists Charleston has not named the berth.

Volume figures count passenger movements, which include people getting off as well as getting on. They indicate how busy a port is, not how many cabins sail from it.

Which of the three paths works here

1

Cruise line pre-order

We have not yet confirmed a cruise line gift desk for sailings from Port of Charleston. That does not mean none exists. It means no line we cover publishes one for this port in material we could read and quote, so we are not going to tell you there is one. Check your booking confirmation first, then use the hotel drop below.

2

Pre-cruise hotel drop

The practical path here. Downtown hotels are where passengers actually sleep. We list two shops whose own pages name those hotels and post a clock: The Greenery Florist and The Flower Cottage. Neither has shown a Union Pier receiving desk.

3

Terminal and pier delivery

Union Pier is a working passenger facility on the Cooper. We have not opened a florist page that names that terminal or a receiving desk.

This is a real option here, and the one to take the most care with. Deliveries onto a ship go through the vessel's agent and suppliers who hold port credentials. Some florists can arrange that. More advertise it than can actually do it. Before you rely on it, ask three questions and expect clear answers to all three: have they delivered to this specific terminal before, who signs for it at the other end, and can they get it there several hours before departure rather than close to sailing time. A vague answer to any of them means you should use one of the other two paths.

Terminal assignments change between seasons and between ships on the same line. Confirm against the booking before you rely on one.

Where the pre-cruise hotels are

A hotel drop only works if you send to the building the passenger is actually sleeping in. These are the clusters that matter at this port.

Downtown and the Market

Where most embarking passengers stay. Mills House, Charleston Marriott, and the other named hotels sit here, not at Union Pier.

Riverview and Westedge

A short drive from downtown, used when downtown rates are high.

If the ship has already sailed

A downtown hotel will not forward flowers to a ship that has cleared the Cooper. If you have missed the sailing, send to the home address for their return.
